AMBOSELI
Amboseli National Park is a safari destination that combines stunning scenery, diverse wildlife and rich culture. Located in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, Amboseli offers a breathtaking view of the snow-capped mountain and its surrounding plains.
Visitors to the park get to see its famous residents: the elephants. Amboseli is home to over 1,000 elephants, some of which are among the largest and oldest in Africa. They can be watched roaming freely in the marshes and grasslands. The Amboseli Elephant Research Project offers guests the chance to learn more about their behavior and conservation.
Amboseli is not only about elephants, though. The park boasts over 400 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, kingfishers and raptors. Other animals such as lions, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras, giraffes and wildebeests can also be spotted.
Amboseli also offers a unique opportunity to experience the culture and traditions of the Maasai people, who have lived in harmony with nature for centuries. Tourists can visit a Maasai village, interact with the locals, and witness their colorful ceremonies and dances.
