NAIROBI

Nairobi is a vibrant and cosmopolitan city that offers a variety of attractions for visitors. It is the only city in the world with a national park within its environs, the Nairobi National Park. Here, visitors can see lions, giraffes, zebras, rhinos and more, against the backdrop of skyscrapers. The park also has a safari walk, a wildlife conservation education centre and an animal orphanage that rescues and rehabilitates injured and orphaned animals.

Another attraction is the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, a world-renowned conservation organisation that operates a very successful orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation program. Visitors to the Trust can watch baby elephants being fed and playing in the mud. Guests can also adopt an elephant and support its care and protection.

One of the highlights of the city is the Giraffe Centre, home to a herd of endangered Rothschild's giraffes. Visitors can interact with the giraffes, feed them and learn more about their conservation. Guests of the Giraffe Manor, a unique boutique hotel within the centre can enjoy breakfast and tea with the giraffes, who often poke their heads through the hotel windows to greet guests and get some treats.

Nairobi is also home to the National Museum, the largest and most comprehensive museum in Kenya that showcases the country's rich heritage in culture, history, nature and art.
