SUYIAN RANCH
Suyian Ranch is a 43,000-acre conservancy located in the heart of Kenya's Laikipia Plateau. The ranch is named after the Maa term for the African Wild Dog, an endangered animal that is rare in these parts.
Suyian Ranch is home to over 100 mammals, including a number of endangered species such as Grevy's zebra, Reticulated giraffe, Gerenuk, Lion, Cheetah and African Wild Dog. The ranch also supports a significant elephant population and more than 16 km of Ewaso Narok River frontage. The river attracts a variety of water birds and other aquatic life.
The ranch is part of the wider Laikipia-Ewaso ecosystem, which holds the highest diversity of large mammal species of any ecosystem of its size in the world. It is situated along a vital wildlife movement corridor between Laikipia and the northern community conservancies of Samburu, ensuring wilderness connectivity within a vast landscape.
Suyian Ranch is also a working cattle ranch that practices holistic management and conservation at its core. It is owned and managed by the Powys family, a Kenyan family of British descent, who are dedicated to preserving the wildlife and supporting the local communities.
