TSAVO WEST
Tsavo West National Park in Kenya is a perfect destination for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. It is home to some of the most iconic and endangered wildlife in Africa, such as elephants, lions, rhinos, leopards, and cheetahs.
One of the main attractions of Tsavo West is Mzima Springs, a natural oasis that provides water for millions of animals and plants. Here visitors can watch hippos and crocodiles from an underwater viewing chamber, or enjoy a scenic walk along the palm-fringed shores. Guests might also spot some of the rare and colorful birds that inhabit the park, such as the lilac-breasted roller, the golden-breasted starling, and the red-and-yellow barbet.
Another attraction of Tsavo West is the Ngulia Rhino Sanctuary, a fenced area that protects the critically endangered black rhino from poachers. Visitors can join a guided tour to see these majestic creatures up close and learn about their conservation efforts. Tourists can also visit the Shetani lava flow, a massive black rock formation that was created by a volcanic eruption thousands of years ago.
Aside from being a wildlife destination, the park is also a place of history and culture. Visitors can explore the remains of the First World War battles that took place here between the British and the Germans.
