OVERVIEW
This is a luxury five day tour of Samburu National Reserve, a hidden gem situated on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro river, which provides a lifeline for wildlife and the local Samburu people. The reserve is famous for the Samburu Special Five: Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. These five animals are unique to this part of the world. The Samburu National Reserve is also home to predators including Lions, Leopards, Cheetah and African Wild Dogs; as well as large herds of Elephant.
Accommodation is at Elephant Bedroom Camp, set along the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River, and shaded by Doum palms and other trees that make up a green belt of riverine forest in the Samburu National Reserve. It is an intimate tented camp with simplistic elegance, luxury and style providing an astonishing safari experience. It comprises 14 spacious tents, with rustic and colourful African touches, offering all the familiar comforts: including a private plunge pool on the deck, hot and cold running water, and electricity. Elephant, Monkeys and Impalas are amongst the camp's many regular wild visitors, thus the name, Elephant Bedroom Camp.
Transport to and within the reserve is by road, in private safari landcruiser 4x4 vehicles, with pop-up roofs for panoramic 360° game viewing. The vehicles are driven by professional driver-guides, with comprehensive knowledge of the reserve and the wildlife within.
This tour is customisable. The number of days can be increased or decreased as per request. Travel to and from the game reserve, can be changed to air travel instead of by road.

ITINERARY
ARRIVAL:
- You'll be picked up from the airport.
- Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
DAY 01: NAIROBI TO SAMBURU
- We depart early in the morning for Samburu.
- Check in at Elephant Bedroom Camp in time for lunch.
- Spend a relaxing afternoon at the camp, or have an afternoon game drive.
- Enjoy a full-course dinner, and spend your first night in your luxury tent.
DAYS 02 - 04: SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
- Arise for an early morning breakfast in preparation for the day.
- Proceed to a morning game drive, with plenty of time to spot wildlife before they seek cover to cool off from the mid-day sun.
- Return to camp in time for a sumptuous lunch.
- Relax and enjoy the facilities.
- Go for an afternoon/evening game drive (Optional).
- Enjoy a full-course dinner and relax with exquisite views of the wild at night.

DAY 05: SAMBURU TO NAIROBI
- Wake up at 6 am for a sunrise game drive.
- Return to camp for breakfast and prepare for checkout.
- Depart for Nairobi.
- Have lunch at a selected restaurant in the capital.
DEPARTURE:
- Additional accommodation at the end of this tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
- You'll be dropped off at the airport.
