MBWEHA CAMP
OVERVIEW
This is a luxury five day tour of Lake Nakuru National park, famous for the magical sight of thousands of flamingos gathered on the shores of Lake Nakuru. The flamingos feed on blue-green algae that grow in the alkaline waters of the lake. The algae give the birds their distinctive pink colour. Lake Nakuru is a bird lover's paradise, offering visitors the opportunity to spot pelicans, kingfishers, eagles, vultures among 450 other bird species. In addition to the exceptional bird life, the park plays host to endangered black and white rhinos, rare Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and many more.
Tucked away in the spectacular Great Rift Valley on the private 6400 acre Congreve Conservancy bordering Lake Nakuru National Park, accommodation is at Mbweha Safari Camp. The camp comprises ten Rustic lava-stone cottages with thatched roofs surrounded by euphorbia candelabra, yellow barked acacia and other indigenous trees. Being situated just outside a National Park allows for guest to enjoy many activities, such as walking, mountain biking and night game drives. Guests can also enjoy day trips into Nakuru National Park with the option of a gourmet bush lunch with spectacular views of the Lake and the National Park.
Transport to and within the national park is by road, in private safari landcruiser 4x4 vehicles, with pop-up roofs for panoramic 360° game viewing. The vehicles are driven by professional driver-guides, with comprehensive knowledge of the reserve and the wildlife within.
This tour is customisable. The number of days can be increased or decreased as per request. Travel to and from the game reserve, can be changed to air travel instead of by road.

ITINERARY
ARRIVAL:
- You'll be picked up from the airport.
- Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
DAY 01: NAIROBI TO LAKE NAKURU
- We depart early in the morning for Lake Nakuru.
- Check in at Mbweha Safari Camp in time for lunch.
- Spend a relaxing afternoon at the camp, or have an afternoon game drive.
- Enjoy a full-course dinner, and spend your first night in your luxury tent.
DAYS 02 - 04: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
- Arise for an early morning breakfast in preparation for the day.
- Proceed to a morning game drive, with plenty of time to spot wildlife before they seek cover to cool off from the mid-day sun.
- Return to camp in time for a sumptuous lunch.
- Relax and enjoy the facilities.
- Go for an afternoon/evening game drive (Optional).
- Enjoy a full-course dinner and relax with exquisite views of the wild at night.

DAY 05: LAKE NAKURU TO NAIROBI
- Wake up at 6 am for a sunrise game drive.
- Return to camp for breakfast and prepare for checkout.
- Depart for Nairobi.
- Have lunch at a selected restaurant in the capital.
DEPARTURE:
- Additional accommodation at the end of this tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
- You'll be dropped off at the airport.
