- Lake Nakuru National Park: Flamingos flock to the shores of Lake Nakuru in huge numbers, forming a stunning sight of pink against the blue lake and the green vegetation. The park is not only a bird lover's paradise, but also a wildlife haven. It hosts over 50 mammal species, including endangered black and white rhinos, rare Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and many more.
- Scenic Views: The park features breathtaking views from lookout points, especially over the lake and surrounding landscapes.
- Baboon Cliff: A popular viewpoint offering stunning panoramic views of Lake Nakuru and the Great Rift Valley.
- Nearby Attractions: The nearby Menengai Crater and the famous Olorgesailie Prehistoric Site, known for its archaeological finds, are also worth a visit.
Naivasha is another key destination in the Great Rift Valley. It is situated on the shores of Lake Naivasha, a freshwater lake that is home to many birds and hippos. The lake's name comes from the Maasai word ɛnaɨpɔ́sha, meaning "that which heaves," referring to the waves that form when it is windy. Popular attractions in Naivasha include:
- Lake Naivasha: A freshwater lake known for its rich birdlife, including flamingos and herons. Boat rides are popular, allowing visitors to see wildlife like hippos and various birds up close.
