SOPA MARA
OVERVIEW
This is a luxury five day - four night tour of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. Famous for the abundance of lion, the Great Wildebeest Migration and the Maasai people, well known for their distinctive custom and dress, the Mara is without a doubt one of Africa's most famous safari destinations.
Located high on the slopes of the Oloolaimutia Hills, accommodation is at the Masai Mara Sopa Lodge, one of the first safari lodges to be built in the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. All buildings here follow the design of traditional African round houses with conical roofs, and these stretch along the line of the hills with the impressively large public area buildings and the swimming pool at their centre.
The lodge has fifty guest cottages, each housing two spacious guest rooms with queen and king size beds, mosquito nets, electronic safes, dressing tables, en-suite bathrooms and sheltered verandas that have views over the gardens and the game reserve beyond. Guests can dine at the lodge's excellent restaurant, that offers both local and international cuisines. At the end of a long day in the wild, guests may pass by the Ol Murrani Bar for a cocktail, as the sun goes down.
Transport to and within the reserve is by road, in private safari landcruiser 4x4 vehicles, with pop-up roofs for panoramic 360° game viewing. The vehicles are driven by professional driver-guides, with comprehensive knowledge of the reserve and the wildlife within.
This tour is customisable. The number of days can be increased or decreased as per request. Travel to and from the game reserve, can be changed to air travel instead of by road.
