SOPA NAKURU
OVERVIEW
This is a luxury five day - four night tour of the Lake Nakuru National Park, known the world-over for the thousands of flamingos that gather on the shores of Lake Nakuru. A magnificent sight, the flock of flamingos form a sea of pink, in contrast to the blue lake and green vegetation. The flamingos feed on blue-green algae that grow in the alkaline waters of the lake. The algae give the flamingos their distinctive pink color, which varies from pale to bright depending on their diet.
In addition to the exceptional bird life, the park plays host to endangered black and white rhinos, rare Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hippos and many more. Views of these animals, against the backrop of the Lake and flamingo population, is a rare sight only found in this part of the world.
This tour's accommodation is at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, which overlooks Lake Nakuru. Rooms at the lodge include balconies overlooking the lake. The lounge, bar and dining room have extensive sheltered outdoor terraces. The infinity swimming pool also overlooks the lake and has a pool bar.
Transport to and within the national park is by road, in private safari landcruiser 4x4 vehicles, with pop-up roofs for panoramic 360° game viewing. The vehicles are driven by professional driver-guides, with comprehensive knowledge of the park and the wildlife within.
This tour is customisable. The number of days can be increased or decreased as per request. Travel to and from the national park, can be changed to air travel instead of by road.

ITINERARY
ARRIVAL:
- You'll be picked up from the airport.
- Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
DAY 01: NAIROBI TO LAKE NAKURU
- We depart early in the morning for Lake Nakuru.
- Check in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge in time for lunch.
- Spend a relaxing afternoon at the camp, or have an afternoon game drive.
- Enjoy a full-course dinner, and spend your first night in your room.
DAYS 02 - 04: LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK
- Arise for an early morning breakfast in preparation for the day.
- Proceed to a morning game drive, with plenty of time to spot wildlife before they seek cover to cool off from the mid-day sun.
- Return to the lodge in time for a sumptuous lunch.
- Relax and enjoy the facilities.
- Go for an afternoon/evening game drive (Optional).
- Enjoy a full-course dinner and relax with exquisite views of the wild at night.

DAY 05: LAKE NAKURU TO NAIROBI
- Wake up at 6 am for a sunrise game drive.
- Return to the lodge for breakfast and prepare for checkout.
- Depart for Nairobi.
- Have lunch at a selected restaurant in the capital.
DEPARTURE:
- Additional accommodation at the end of this tour can be arranged for an extra cost.
- You'll be dropped off at the airport.
